Jagmeet Singh is wrong. The Liberal government introduced some of the most significant reforms to drug price regulations since their introduction, with the final amendments to the Patented Medicines Regulations. These reforms are expected to provide Canadians with more than $13 billion in savings on patented drug costs over ten years.

In addition, the Liberal government introduced the Canada Drug Agency, a new national agency to coordinate the assessment and negotiation of prescription drug prices. The Liberal Party is also committed to taking critical next steps to implement national universal Pharmacare, and will back up these commitments with an additional $6 billion over the next four years, tied to outcomes and negotiated with the provinces and territories.
