FACT CHECK: Scheer Would Take Us Back to Harper Era on Indigenous Rights

Andrew Scheer would take Canada back to the days of Stephen Harper on Indigenous rights. In fact, Andrew Scheer was booed by Indigenous leaders when he couldn’t tell them how he would be any different than Stephen Harper.

Last month Perry Bellegarde, National Chief of the Assembly of First Nations, called on Scheer to distance himself from his mentor and political idol Stephen Harper. It’s clear Scheer would follow Harper’s lead when it comes to Indigenous issues.
