FACT CHECK: Scheer Doesn’t Want to Admit Canada’s Economy Is Strong and Growing

The Facts:  Andrew Scheer likes to talk down the economy, but since 2015 when Andrew Scheer and Stephen Harper were last in government together, Canadians have created over 1.1 million new jobs and the unemployment rate is at a 40 year low.

We lowered the small business tax from 11% in 2015 to 9% in 2019. Canada now has the lowest small business tax rate in the G7. The Canadian economy grew 3.9% in the second quarter of 2019, beating expectations from economists.

We’re supporting the economy by investing in Canadians. The Conservatives campaign saying they’re for the people, but then they cut taxes for the wealthiest while cutting services for everybody else.
