FACT CHECK: Andrew Scheer falsely claims that a price on pollution “has been proven to fail”

Andrew Scheer says he wants to scrap pollution pricing and make pollution free again, but we know it is the best measure to lower greenhouse gas emissions. Even his own candidates know pollution pricing works.

In fact, Andrew Scheer’s falsehoods about pricing pollution have been called out for “a lot of baloney.”

Canadians rightly expect their government to protect the planet for future generations, and that’s what our plan does. Progress under Justin Trudeau includes putting a price on pollution, protecting our oceans, phasing out coal, and banning single-use plastics.
